I am a Penn State University graduate with dual degrees in Film Production and Psychology.
I recently graduated from the Blackbird Academy's Live Sound Engineering Program, for which I received the Platinum Award.
I would love to further understand psychology portrayed in film while also working as a sound engineer and writer in both the music and film industry.
I started making videos, writing stories, and mixing songs when I was little, and as I got older, I realized that pursuing those things for a career is something I see myself doing. In fact, it is something I can't see myself not doing.

My first experience with structured filmmaking was in 7th grade when I competed in the Middle School/High School PA Regional Computer Fair. I didn't think much of it at first, but when I started working on my film and making it come to life, I truly felt like myself.
I was so excited to present my film to other schools and faculty at the competition. I ended up placing first and was qualified to compete at States! I began to compete in the Computer Fair every year up until my senior year, placing first at Regionals and qualifying for States three times.
I did all the writing, sound, shooting and editing for my films.
I am Abbrielle Tuel.
Beginning in 10th grade, I became involved in my school's TV Production class and had the opportunity to travel to both Atlanta, GA and Anaheim, CA to compete in the Student Television Network (STN). Through these experiences, I began to understand how I enjoy expressing myself and what makes me feel fulfilled.

In college, I decided to pursue film further by getting involved in student film productions, joining a screenwriting circle, and joining the Penn State Student Film Organization.
I started meeting so many amazing people and learning so many new things through them and these experiences.
Set of Ghosted (2021)

Set of A Deer in the Woods (2022)

After some time, I became a part of the crew for a feature-length horror film made by Penn State students. This was my first time gaining experience with a longer production -- we filmed from May 2021 to November 2021, shooting at night almost daily until about 2 AM. When I saw the final product on the big screen, I was in awe. I am so grateful for all of the memories shared and knowledge acquired from this time.
Set of Overcooked (2022)
I kept getting involved on different sets and met so many people through these experiences. In the fall of 2021 I joined the Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Alpha (DKA), a gender-inclusive cinematic society. Through DKA, I became a part of the Production Committee, where we all collaborate on at least one DKA-associated film each semester.

More about DKA...
Omega Chapter - Fall 2022

DKA had become a large part of my life at Penn State. During my last fall semester, I held two officer positions: Pledge Education Officer (PEO) and Philanthropy Chair. As a PEO, I was in charge of educating our pledges on what DKA is all about, including our history, bylaws, traditions, and expectations. As Philanthropy Chair, my duty was to help give back to our community and beyond by raising money for charities and other organizations in need.
That spring I was the Retreat Chair, which I was responsible for scheduling and organizing a weekend getaway for all Omega members that was filled with DKA-oriented activities and bonding.
During my entire time in DKA, I had been in the Production, Fundraising/Philanthropy, and Retreat Committees.
Even after college, I continue to network with other "DeKAs" at Penn State and beyond.

During all of these film production experiences, I gained more experience mixing sound for my classmate's films and my own, as well as musical works. I realized this is something I thoroughly enjoy doing, and decided I wanted to increase my sound production/engineering skills as much as possible.
With this, I decided to pursue Sound Engineering at the Blackbird Academy from April to September, 2025. There I learned all the basics of sound engineering that prepared me for a career in doing what I love. I see myself continuously creating new things in the future and always learning as much as I can.
I am constantly gaining more experience and doing new things for my own personal growth.
